Creativity is a gift—like that quirky talent you never asked for but can’t shake off. Anamika discovered this talent early, spending her childhood dabbling in every form of art—painting, cooking, sewing, gardening—you name it. But her true passion? Transforming her tiny 450-sq.ft. Mumbai apartment, where six people coexisted with zero privacy. With no budget, she repurposed waste, painted furniture, and crafted storage solutions that fit just right. She dreamed of going to art school, but after losing her father at 17, that dream faded in thin air. Still, her creative Midas Touch never left her!

When Anamika decorated her first apartment in Mumbai, friends and strangers chimed in, “You’re in the wrong profession!” She laughed it off, believing she had already found her calling in social advocacy work. She flipped two more of her apartments. The buyers’ one demand? “We’ll buy it—ONLY if you leave everything exactly as it is!” In 2021, she bought a 1950s house in Winnipeg and transformed it with recycled décor, sparking the same chorus: “Are you seriously this talent go to waste?” Her best friend since kindergarten and a random stranger hit her with the same question from a speech by Denzel Washington:
"Imagine you're on your deathbed, and standing around your deathbed are the ghosts representing your unfulfilled potential, the ghost of the ideas you never acted on, the ghost of the talents you didn't use... how many ghosts are going to be around your bed when your time comes?
The childhood dream of becoming an artist nagged at Anamika, along with the guilt of abandoning her creative gifts. She enrolled in a staging course at CSP International, thinking it was just going to be a side hustle. But by the end of the course, she knew it was more than that—her decision was nothing short of divine intervention. And after deliberate consideration, Midas Touch Staging & Design Studio was born, under the mentorship of CSP’s Christine Rae. Anamika now aims to combine her 15 years of healing and therapy work in human rights and social justice with her passion for creating healing spaces that don’t just look good but feel good, as a truly beautiful space isn’t just about design—it’s about healing, hope, and maybe a little magic, too!
